Murat accused of staging his own assassination
Another political scandal is rearing up in Mexico. On 4 June the federal Procuraduría General de la República (PGR) found that the attempted 'assassination' of the governor of Oaxaca, José Murat, on 18 March this year was staged. Murat immediately rejected the PGR's findings and said that they were part of a plot by the federal government against him.
